My idols. Part 1 of 2

I think it was my mom who introduced me to John Waters. I always remembered her telling me about how much fun it was to see Polyester (in Ordorama) with her sister. Luckily for me, in 2006 the college I attended had John Waters come visit, and they showed Polyester in Odorama. Dreams do come true people.

I always find him to be an interesting and inspiring person with great stories to tell. In things I've read, it seems like he carries a lot of self discipline when it comes to his work, which is something I wish I had.

Come in and sign in please!

When left with no responsibilities to wake up for, I always fall into sleeping for most of the day and staying awake for most of the night. Thanks to this, for the past month or so I have been watching What's My Line? at 3 o'clock in the morning. It's followed by The Name's The Same, which I don't enjoy as much(...especially now because the usual host, Robert Q. Lewis, is on vacation.)

But anyways...
What I really wanted to post was a couple of my favorite mystery guests from What's My Line?

Vincent Price

Frank Lloyd Wright

Liberace

Bob Hope - I love how he signs in.

Maybe I'll post more at a later date, because it is now 4:05 am and I should really head off to bed!

My finger!

I was going to make a post about Barbra Streisand today, but then I broke my finger.

People, I might lose my fingernail! Also, moral of this story...do not try to throw an arm chair over a fence. Also, also, there will be a Barbra Streisand post in the future.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

This is what my nightmares were made of. I used to have the same dream every month for years, featuring the Child Catcher, where he would put me in a cage.

I still feel like I'm going to puke when I watch this!

Where was Chris Hanson back then when you needed him?

rip Roy Scheider :(

It's show time folks.

Roy Scheider died, which is upsetting. He was in one of my top three movies, All That Jazz. (I do love those musicals.)

Also, how about The French Connection? That movie was so badass.

and Jaws, duh.

And NO, he didn't die of a shark attack. jerks.

I spent about 10 years of my life living near Sing Sing prison in Ossining, NY. Maybe this is why I love Oz so much...(Apparently Oswald is based on Sing Sing.)

Notable prisoners of Sing Sing include Albert Fish, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, and some rapper named Bang 'Em Smurf (which is the only reason I mention him.)

I sort of developed this interest in prisons and mugshots. Well actually, I suppose my interest is more with the prisoners than the prisons.

Here is a collection of some of my favorite mugshots. (Most of them are my favorites because I think the subjects are good looking.)

David Bowie was my ultimate dreamboat from 1997-2003.

Patty Hearst.

In 1968, Billy Wayne Hayes was sentenced to 10 years in prison for murder. He escaped in 1972 and had been missing for 34 years, until 2006.

Valerie Low, 1922. It's really interesting to see how long it took the prison system to come to come up with a consistent pattern of how to take mugshots. I think this is just a beautiful mug shot of her.

and to conclude, I want this book.

Teen heart throbs of my youth

Since the passing of Brad Renfro I've been thinking about my favorite heart throbs.

First and foremost is JTT.
(FYI, he doesn't really get why people can't just call him Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Why do people have to be so lazy??)

UMMMM..what a dreamboat!

Hello? Hi! This is Christine calling. I just wanted to let you know that your last cover of BOP was soooo cute! You are the cutest guy in BOP and BB. Want to go on a date to see Flipper before I go away to sleepaway camp?
When I used to go to sleepaway camp, my dad would send me a letter called The Barrett Tattler. It would be an update of things at home, and in one he counted my JTT posters and reassured me that all 9 of them were okay.

Devon Sawa

His hair was always so nicely parted.

How dreamy was he in Casper? Didn't you all basically melt when he walked down those stairs in that frilly shirt. Christina Ricci...what a bitch.

Andrew Keegan

His lip gloss be poppin'!!!

And last but not least (but dead) Brad Renfro

Out of all of them, he probably took the most topless shots....

When I was in middle school I converted my completely normal sized closet into a little hideout. I had my small television in there, along with my Sega Genesis, a telephone, pillows, and blankets. Also, that's where I hung all of my centerfolds. My pubescent lust had to be kept as secret as possible. So I would sit in there, play Sonic, and think of how, if given a chance, they'd all fall in love with me.
